We’re pouring our first-ever house-made wine in our tasting room, made from an ingredient that has a long history here in Maine: blueberries. We purchased lowbush blueberries from the Passamaquoddy Blueberry Company, an organization that’s 100% owned and operated by the Passamaquoddy Tribe of eastern Maine. We then macerated, pressed, and fermented those berries in-house, using a yeast strain we isolated from one of our wooden barrels of Coolship, eliciting notes of blueberry pie, cherry, and mulling spices.
A limited amount of this delicious blueberry wine will only be available on tap in our tasting room on Oct. 9th, with 100% of the profits from its sale going to local indigenous organizations.
